Thursday Night
“Hey Frase?”
“Yes, Ray?”
“Can I ask you a question?”
“Yes Ray.”
“What's this?”
“Ah, that is a ...”
“A what? You kinda had your mouthful there, Frase.”
“Right you are Ray.”
“But hey, don't stop what you were doing just because I asked you a question. It's not that important so, just go back to what you were doing.”
“That's very considerate of you, Ray.”
“I know.”
<minutes pass>
“Thank you for letting me finish Ray.”
“Hey, no problem whatsoever. So what is that thing anyway?”
“A candle. It symbolizes the true nature of ...”
“Is this gonna be a long story ‘cause I'm not exactly in the mood for one now.”
<shurg> “OK”
“Maybe we should try using the kitchen sink. What ya think?”
“I don't think it's sturdy enough Ray.”
“Good point. Hey, here's one. We have to use that pile of clothes over there.”
<rustle, rustle, rustle>
“Seems we have a little much for that one Ray. Perhaps you should have less clothing.”
“Are you suggesting something Fraser?”
“No not at all. I wouldn't presume to tell you how to dress. In fact, I find nothing wrong with your choice of clothing.”
“I thought as much.”
“Ah, how about this one?”
“I don't know Frase .... I mean a throw rug? I'm not even sure I have a throw rug, let alone knowing exactly what one is.”
“Actually Ray, you do have a throw rug. It's what's covering up your dance steps.”
“Oh, well that's cool. So what exactly do we have to do for this one...”
<time passes again>
<okay, a lot of time passes>
“Wow.”
“Wow indeed.”
“Frase, that has got to be the most difficult one we have done yet.”
“It was.”
“Why do you always have to pick the difficult ones?”
“Perhaps it's because of the challenge. Or it could be because it is rather funny to see you struggle to accomplish them.”
“Hey! That's not very buddy-like. You make it sound like we were in some of contest or something. It was just fer fun.”
“True, but trying to do some of the same things that people from all over the world have done to get themselves in the Guinness Book of World Records, well I think that even though it was only for fun, it stills feels like a contest of sorts.”
“Yer a freak.”
“Understood.”
